What Does FSIN Do?

Fittest State jointly promotes science-based strategies that significantly improve the health of the state's workforce, families and the communities where Minnesotans live, work and play.

Fittest State in the Nation aims to:

  • Provide visible, effective, inspirational leadership to help change community and worksite norms with regard to physical activity and healthy eating.

  • Bring business leaders together to address the critical impact of community environments and individual behavior on health status and health care costs.

  • Offer expertise, scientific research and best practices to businesses throughout the state.

  • Create a forum for business leaders to compare experiences, learn from each other and share what works with other businesses and communities.

  • Provide funding opportunities for worksites and communities to work on changing norms around physical activity and nutrition.

  • Monitor and report on Minnesota's progress toward FSIN's two goals for the year 2020.
